Angus Robinson, Jr. Memorial Scholarships
Sigma Chapter is proud to announce that seven members have received scholarships from the Angus Robinson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Foundation. The Angus Robinson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit education fund established in the memory of Angus Robinson, Jr., who was in the reinsurance industry for nearly 20 years. The Foundation awards scholarships to students of Risk Management, Insurance, or Actuarial Science.

Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Scholarship
In order to further the study of insurance and encourage, support, and reward those exceptional students who have an interest in an insurance career, a number of scholarships have been established by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation. Each year the Foundation awards more than ten scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. One scholarship is reserved each year for a student nominated by the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO). The competition for these scholarships is rather intense, as NAPSLO selects only the best and brightest students. Students are selected through a rigorous review of their academic records, a statement of career objectives and letters of merit. Sigma Chapter is proud to announce that one of our members has won the 2009-2010 Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation scholarship.

Amerisure Scholarship
Sigma Chapter is proud to announce that three members have been awarded the Amerisure Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated academic achievement. Each year students are selected from hundreds by Amerisure and awarded this scholarship.

Elmer Roe Deaver Foundation Scholarship
Sigma Chapter is proud to announce that two members have been awarded the Elmer Roe Deaver Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated academic achievement and have financial need. Each semester two students are awarded with $1000.

Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program
Sigma Chapter is proud to announce that two members have been awarded the Anita Benedetti Involvement Program Scholarship. The RIMS Student Involvement Program was initiated as a pilot program at the 1978 Annual Conference in New Orleans. Due to the overwhelming success of this project, a standing committee was created, and the program has become a permanent part of the RIMS Annual Conference. In 1997, the name was changed to the Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program to honor the late Anita Benedetti, former Deputy Executive Director of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) and President of the Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc.
